District Accountability Advisory Committee Parent Survey

This annual parent survey is prepared by the District Accountability Advisory Committee (DAAC). The committee is composed of of parents, teachers, and administrators from every school as well as community members and representatives from 9-R administration, the Board of Education and the Financial Advisory Committee. Each year the results of the survey are used to inform schools and the administration of areas for improvement and areas of strength.

Join us for our 2nd Annual Gallery Walk & Silent Auction!

Annual Spring Gallery Walk
May 10, 2019
5:00-7:30 p.m.
Location: The Secret Garden at the Rochester Hotel.
What: Students, staff and professional artists have prepared art to sell at a silent auction. All community members are invited to attend. Each piece of art will have a bid sheet and highest bidder wins. All funds raised will be spent on helping Big Picture High School students pay for college textbooks. This event is our 2nd annual event.

Durango School District 9-R Receives $1.1M Grant to Support School Safety

The School Security Disbursement program enacted by SB18-269 provides funding to improve security in public school facilities and vehicles and to support training for school personnel. The Colorado Division of Homeland Security made $29M in funds available to school districts across the state and Durango was awarded $1.1M in the grant to support its ongoing school safety measures.

The Durango 9-R Board of Education invites you to join them for coffee on Wednesday, February 6th at 10am. This is an opportunity to meet with school board members and discuss topics of interest. The event takes place at the Durango Joe's on College Drive and will be hosted by school board President Nancy Stubbs and Vice President Stephanie Moran.

Common Grounds Brews Up Some New Ideas

Common Grounds Cafe was established in 2014 as a partnership between Durango School District 9-R and the Durango Library. The Cafe’s mission is to create a viable job-skills training site for students with special needs. The work experiences provides students with skills to find independency in the community and to obtain work.
