The 9-R Public Budget Meeting for the 2022-2023 academic year budget will be on May 19, 2022 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. at Escalante Middle School in the Library. Come to learn more about how funds are allocated to schools to determine staffing, resources and services based on school enrollment, as well as other priorities in spending.
The next Durango School District 9-R Board of Education Work Session is scheduled for Tuesday, May 10, 2022, 5:30 p.m. This meeting is in-person a the Durango School District Administration Building, 201 E. 12th St., Durango.
The Spanish-speaking Parent Advisory Council will meet with Dr. Karen Cheser to exchange ideas and explore how we can improve the 9-R School District for you and your children. The meeting will be in Spanish with English interpretation provided. Please RSVP with your school’s Parent Liaison.
Durango 9-R Student Support Services and School Liaisons worked with community partners to build, install, and fill five Little Libraries with the goal of increasing book access and reading opportunities for students in our community.
Earth Day was Friday, April 22, with plenty of activities in our schools. As a commitment to the district’s sustainability goals, we’re launching a new program to continue efforts beyond one special day per year. Staff and students are invited to join a Green Team in each school.
Did you know that students and families in our district speak 27 different languages? To celebrate National Bilingual/Multilingual Learner Advocacy Month, we’re hosting a special event for all district staff, students and their families.
